1. Intuitive Asset Browser
- Feature: An advanced, user-friendly interface that allows users to quickly browse and search for assets in their local file system or within Blender projects.
- Benefit: No more manually digging through the file browser to find specific assets. Users can visually navigate and preview assets, saving time and frustration.
2. Quick Append with Preview
- Feature: The ability to preview assets (e.g., meshes, materials, collections) before appending them into the current scene.
- Benefit: Users can instantly see the asset’s appearance, size, and properties, allowing them to ensure they’re appending the correct file and asset.
3. Asset Categorization & Tagging
- Feature: Automatically categorize assets by type (e.g., models, materials, textures, animations) and allow users to manually add tags (e.g., “wood,” “metal,” “scifi”).
- Benefit: Easy access to assets via filters, making it faster to find what you need. Tags can further enhance the organization of assets, especially in large libraries.
4. Asset Previews in 3D View
- Feature: Generate live 3D previews of assets directly within the Append Manager, showing how they’ll appear in the current scene with lighting and material preview.
- Benefit: Helps users make quick decisions about which assets to append, as they can see a more accurate representation of the asset in context.
5. Multiple Asset Append
- Feature: Append multiple assets at once (e.g., models, materials, textures) with a single action or by selecting a folder of assets.
- Benefit: Saves time when working with large numbers of assets, especially in larger projects or when setting up an entire scene with multiple assets.
6. Custom Asset Folders & Libraries
- Feature: Allow users to create and organize custom folders and libraries for assets within Blender, including support for external libraries.
- Benefit: Keeps assets well-organized in a central location for easy access across multiple projects, making it simple to reuse assets across different scenes.
